Pinot Noir, Bella Vinga, Green Valley, Russian River
Cooler climate pinot, located in Occidental in
the Green Valley appellation. Southwest slope at about 400 feet of
altitude catches a cool breeze ideal for Green Valley fruit
production. Clones 666, 667, and 777. This 20 year old pinot block
maintains it’s acid structure with lower pigment concentration
throughout the growing season. Picked at 23.5 brix and a pH of 3.4.
Whole berry 100% native ferment, with a long fermentation lasting
about 1 month. Gently pressed with bladder press. Aged in neutral
French oak (twice used) for 15 months, then hand bottled.
Unfiltered and unfined. Light red in color with aromatic earthy
notes and the presence of cranberry with hints of eucalyptus. On
the pallet, light in body yet structurally strong to hold with a
fatty fish and can accompany meats like pork and veal. This is an
